This course introduces the C++ programming language. Topics include language syntax, logic and flow control, data types and structures, files, pointers, system and user defined functions, arrays, recursion, and the use of libraries. Object-oriented principles are emphasized, including the design and coding of classes and class objects. Prerequisites: IS 153 or IS 187 with a minimum grade of "C", or MTH 160A or MTH 160B or MTH 160C, and MTH 170 or MTH 185 with a minimum grade of "C" or satisfactory score on placement test, and Reading Proficiency.
