Introduction of additional clinical dental hygiene procedures including advanced periodontal instrumentation and skills to further develop the assessment and implementation of the dental hygiene diagnosis and treatment plan. Theories and principles for the use of power scalers, air polishers, pulp vitality testers, cast and models, tooth bleaching, and tray fabrication and use of the intraoral camera are covered. Research assignments for review of the current literature will continue. Prerequisites: Current enrollment in the Dental Hygiene program, DHY 142, DHY 215, ENG 101 and Reading Proficiency.
