This is a survey course on the history of graphic communications as it developed throughout human history. This course covers the history and development of visual communication, as relayed through the use of fine and applied art, printed words and imagery. Students study how historical events and culture influence advertising and design. Design developments in different cultures and how they affect each other is also explored. Prerequisite: Reading Proficiency.
