About Continuing Education
St. Louis Community College is a leader in lifelong learning. In responding to the educational needs of the St. Louis metropolitan area, St. Louis Community College Continuing Education has evolved into a leader in the delivery of high-quality educational programs. We offer the following programs and services.
Personal Development Courses -- Pursue your interest in art, languages, hobbies, fitness, finance and more.
Professional Development Courses -- STLCC provides up-to-date training in a variety of areas, including computer and technical programs, career development, food service and more. Specialized programs include:
- Allied Health Continuing Education -- offers both non-credit and credit programming. Credit courses include EMT, Paramedic Technology, and the R.N. First Assistant program. Credit-free courses are offered for nurses, EMS personnel and other allied health professionals.
- The Forest Park campus is a training agency of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services for certified nurses' assistant training and certified medication technician training. Allied Health Continuing Education is certified by the American Heart Association as a training center for advanced cardiac life support, basic cardiac life support, and pediatric advanced life support. - American Management Association (AMA) -- St. Louis Community College plays an active role in the continuing education of the citizens of St. Louis. - Small Business Development Program -- offers small business owners and/or managers-or those who are interested in starting a business-with programming that provides the tools they need to succeed in today’s swiftly changing business environment. For more information, call 314-513-4581.
- Child Care Providers Program -- offers a variety of classes for those employed in the child care field or for those interested in learning more about working with children through the Caring for Kids program. Child care clock training hours are available. For more information, call 314-513-4391.
- The Center for Visual Technology -- is home to one of the leading digital arts programs in the nation. Customized Curriculum Development -- In collaboration with area businesses, schools, industries, agencies and organizations, STLCC offers educational training programs throughout the metropolitan area. We can design a program to meet the needs of your constituents. We can offer credentialing, certificates and transcriptions of training. STLCC Continuing Education can coordinate your next conference or create an on-site workshop.
Community Engagement
GED Preparation, Academic Skills and Literacy Training, and ESL -- Students can study to earn a GED, improve basic reading, writing and math skills, and learn English conversation reading and writing skills.
Youth Programs -- Young learners can get involved in classes developed especially for them, or for parents and children to take together. In addition, the college offers a variety of programs for youth such as Kids on Campus, College for Kids and summer camps. For more information, contact any STLCC Continuing Education office.
Job Skills Training -- The Harrison Education Center offers a variety of introductory-level job training programs that provide students with the skills necessary to succeed in today’s work force. These specially designed programs, generally from six to 16 weeks in length, combine technical coursework in a specific career field with basic job and life skills classes, such as business writing and time management.
