HORT:713 Go Native! Native Landscaping for Bees, Butterflies and Other Pollinators10/03-10/03  

Fall is a great time to start thinking about what you want to bloom in the spring to attract pollinators to your landscape. Butterflies along with bees and other insect pollinators are environmental barometers. Healthy landscapes have large numbers and a wide diversity of pollinators--contaminated or altered landscapes do not. The best plants lure pollinators to their flowers by offering pollen, nectar, resin and oil, and by evolving visual and olfactory cues such as nectar guides, color and fragrance.
