Please bring your lunch.*** Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to recognize when someone is experiencing a crisis and how to help them. You will learn the signs and symptoms of common mental illnesses, substance use disorders and a five-step action plan. This 8-hour class teaches the learner with limited or no medical background how to become a mental health first-aider for adults. Registration/refund/withdrawal deadline: 3/11. St. Louis School Business Partnership is offering an evening workshop at the Metro St. Louis Operations Center, in which participants will learn the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) behind a complex light rail and bus transportation system that supports over 40 million passenger boarding's per year. Participants will experience in the ins and outs of transportation logistics, have a better understanding of technology necessary to run a large transportation operation, and better understanding of the role that STEM plays in our daily lives. Participants will have an opportunity to engage and ask questions of Metro St. Louis operations staff.
