SEMO 2+2 Program
The Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology at Southeast Missouri State University, in cooperation with St. Louis Community College, is providing the opportunity for students in the St. Louis region to complete the requirements for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology: Technology Management in St. Louis. This is a 2+2, or degree-completion, program because students seeking admission must first satisfactorily complete an Associate of Applied Science Degree from an accredited institution in an industrial or engineering technology related field with a minimum 2.0 grade point average (4.0 scale). The Associate of Applied Science Degree can be from St. Louis Community College or another accredited two-year institution. Upon being admitted to the Bachelor of Science Degree Program, students will be governed by the academic policies and degree requirements in place at Southeast Missouri State University.
The Bachelor of Science Degree is designed to assist individuals who have completed a quality technical program and, because of changing career goals or promotion opportunities in the work place, desire to complete a bachelor of science degree that will prepare them for industrial supervision or management positions. Starting in January 2007, Southeast is now offering a construction management focus to the Industrial Technology degree for those individuals whose career paths are more closely aligned to positions in that industry.
The program will be available entirely in St. Louis through a combination of courses offered by the cooperating institutions. Each students program course requirements will vary, depending on previous credit. Generally, students will complete a minimum of 120 hours of coursework with a minimum of 30 hours of technical management courses delivered by Southeast Missouri State University, and 39 hours of upper-level courses delivered by Southeast, or another accredited four-year institution.
Southeast Missouri State also delivers a Master of Science in Industrial Management to St. Louis. Completion of the Bachelor Degree in Industrial Technology prepares students for acceptance into the Master's degree program.
