What is Blackboard?

Blackboard course sites are used in many St. Louis Community College courses each semester. Students use Blackboard to:

  • Find important class documents, such as the syllabus, handouts and lecture notes
  • Easily access e-reserves
  • Look up assignment due dates and exam schedules
  • Read class announcements
  • Participate in online discussions
  • Take quizzes and tests
  • Turn in assignments
  • Check grades

Instructors may or may not use Blackboard. Courses are not available until your instructor opens them. Check with your instructors to find out how or if you are expected to use Blackboard, and when they will become available.
