Melanie Marcy joined the St. Louis Community College staff in 2009 as an assistant to head coach Shelly Ethridge at the Meramec campus. She remained on Ethridge's coaching staff when the athletics program transitioned to a districtwide format in 2011. She has been part of three appearances in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Tournament by STLCC teams.
Marcy served as the head coach at Whitfield High School in 2006 after serving as an assistant from 2004-06. She served as an assistant coach at the University of Missouri-St. Louis from 1999 to 2004. Those teams compiled a record of 172-102.
Marcy played basketball at Illinois State University from 1995-97 before transferring to the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She played two seasons at UMSL, earning all-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors before joining the coaching staff.
Marcy earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communications from UMSL and currently is working toward a master’s degree in education at UMSL.(Last updated November 2014)
