STEM Scholarship

The St. Louis STEM Scholars (S3) Academy of St. Louis Community College – Florissant Valley (STLCC-FV) provides financial and academic support for students in challenging STEM disciplines. The purpose is to increase the number of students completing associate degrees, matriculating to four-year universities, and entering the STEM workforce.

This program is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and provides up to $6283 per academic year to qualifying candidates (with planned annual increases in the maximum amount). These funds are intended to cover educational expenses including tuition, fees and living expenses.

To qualify a student must:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher.
  • Be enrolled fulltime at STLCC-FV in a STEM major: Biotechnology, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Computer Science, Engineering Science and Engineering Technology.
  • Have earned a “B” or better in Intermediate Algebra or higher.
  • Demonstrate financial eligibility as determined by the STLCC Financial Aid Office.

As a member of the S3 Academy, a student is also eligible for academic support services and is part of a cohort of students who participate in the activities and events of the STLCC STEM Scholars Organization.
