Institutional Development
The Institutional Development office provides support to faculty and staff in securing external funding through grants from public agencies and private and corporate foundations.
External funds from grants have greatly benefited STLCC’s instructional needs and physical needs -- supporting curriculum development, service-learning programs, training for preschool teachers, professional development for faculty and staff, purchase of instructional equipment and software, and student support services.
Institutional Development identifies grant opportunities to support college programs, assists faculty and staff in writing and critiquing grant proposals, develops proposal budgets, and conducts funding searches for faculty and staff members who have an idea for a project that requires funding. All proposed projects must support the college’s strategic planning goals and visional directions. Institutional Development coordinates an internal grants-approval process. Once a proposal is funded, Institutional Development then provides grants management support to the project director and staff. The office coordinates and monitors restricted college scholarships/loan funds and processes in-kind gifts to the college.
The work of Institutional Development assists STLCC in advancing its mission and better serving its students and the college community.
