Melissa Hattman of University City is the director of community college relations at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She currently serves as the board's chair, and has served one term as the vice chair.
Hattman has been employed by UMSL since 1996. She previously served as director of admissions for Hickey School (now Hickey College). She also served as an admissions representative for the Art Institute of Houston.
Hattman completed the University of Missouri's President's Academic Leadership Institute, and is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. She volunteers for Food Outreach, and has volunteered with the St. Vincent DePaul meals program and was part of the speaker's bureau for the Women's Self Help Center of St. Louis. She currently serves on the Governance and Bylaws Committee of the Association of Community College Trustees.
Hattman holds a master's degree in higher education from UMSL. She holds a bachelor's degree in English and history from Lamar University. She also holds teaching certification for grades 7-12.
