Joann L. Ordinachev, Ph.D.

Joann L. Ordinachev, Ph.D., of Affton was elected to a third term on the board in April 2007. She is a retired counselor at North County Technical School of the Special School District and is president of Mindfield Enterprise, LLC, of northwest Arkansas. She has served three terms as board chair.

Ordinachev received the 2008 Glynn E. Clark Award for making significant contributions to the Missouri Community College Association. Ordinachev also received the 1999 Trustee of the Year Award from the American Association for Women in Community Colleges. She currently serves on the Central Region Nominating Committee and the Governance and By-laws Committee for the Association of Community College Trustees. She served as President of the Trustee Department on the Missouri Community College Association Board of Directors in 2008.

Ordinachev is active in many professional organizations. She is a member of the League of Women Voters, the Network for Women Psychologists, the Missouri Psychology Association, the National Association of Secondary Principals and the Special District National Education Association. She also has served on the boards of the Heritage House Redevelopment, Heritage Housing Foundation and the Metropolitan St. Louis Teachers' Housing Corp. Ordinachev also served as president of the MNEA for the Special School District in 1980-81 and received Teacher of the Year from the Suburban Teacher's Association. She is a past member of the Creve Coeur Kiwanis.

Ordinachev earned her doctorate in education from Saint Louis University. Her master's degree in education is from Webster University, and her bachelor degree in education is from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is certified in several special education areas -- counseling K-12, special reading K-12, special education director -- and has secondary and junior high principal certificates.

Ordinachev has two stepdaughters.
